My apologies to those I told we'd begin our drill-and-play Sunday sessions this week. I forgot that it's Joe's anniversary, so he'll be otherwise engaged (pun intended). Weather permitting, we'll begin drill-and-play next Sunday, May 31st.

This Sunday, May 24th, it looks like the weather will be perfect. We'll play, no drills, at 4:30 PM at JR Gerritts Middle School, which is at 545 S. John Street in Kimberly. For those of you who have not been there before be aware that there is a parking lot behind the school that's close to the courts. If you are driving north on John St. go past the school and turn right into the driveway just before the railroad tracks.

We'll play tennis indoors tomorrow at FCRC at 4:30 PM. This will be our LAST indoor Sunday session for this year. Next Sunday, May 21st, at 4:30 PM, weather permitting, we will begin outdoor play. Joe Soddy, who coaches at AHS-North, will conduct an hour of drills, then we'll play for 30 minutes. We have agreed to pay Joe $10 each for his time and for opening the AHS-North courts for us.

Remember that our outdoor "rules of thumb" are:

1. It's got to be warmer than 50 degrees.
2. Courts must be dry.
3. It shouldn't be too windy (this is a judgement call, of course).

Finally, on Sunday, we'll decide on when and where to begin our Thursday sessions. On Thursdays we start at 5:30 PM because of work schedules and play until 7 PM. Usually we play either at Gerritts Middle School in Kimberly or at Southview Park in Neenah. See you soon.
